Mary Nix

Mrs. Mary Nix, 79, of Kokomo was called to Glory early October 15, 2019. Mary Nix, 79, Kokomo, transitioned at 1:32 a.m. Oct. 15, 2019, at Community Howard Regional Health, Kokomo.

Mrs. Nix was formerly employed by the G.M. Division of Delco Electronics and also Chrysler Corp., of which she retired in 1997. Mary was a member of City of Refuge C.O.G.I.C., where she proudly served on the Mother's Board. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, shopping and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her sons, Henry Darnell Jones (Debra), Dwayne Edward Jones (Ashley), and Anthony L. Jones (Casey), all of Kokomo, Indiana, and also Will Hayes, Marion, Indiana; two daughters, Veronica A. Merriwether (Scott), Maria A. Jones, both of Kokomo; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her extended Nix family.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lee Nix Sr.; one son, James E. Jones; two sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, with visitation 9 a.m. until time of service at the Grace Memorial Institutional Church of God In Christ, 1417 Delphos Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46901. Pastor Harry L. Beard will officiate.  Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.  Floral tributes may be delivered to the church beginning one hour prior to time of services.
