His sister, Kimberly C Edwards proceeded him in death in 2008. Kevin attended Mt Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, and accepted Christ at a young age. He attended Sycamore Elementary School and later graduated from Kokomo High School in 1982. In high school, Kevin began to explore his passion for music. As a member of the high school band, he became drum major. Additionally he participated in theatre as well as the concert and show choirs. Kevin left Kokomo to attend Ball State University and later Ivy Tech Community College where he earned his nursing certification. Settling down in Indianapolis, Indiana, he then became very active in Irvington Township. It was during this time that he became a certified esthetician and co-owner of Snips Salon with Anthony Lineberry. Snips garnered numerous awards and recognition as a Top Salon in the City of Indianapolis. When he was not in the salon, he enjoyed his time camping, travelling the world, attending concerts, connecting with friends, and most importantly, spending time with his numerous pets. Perhaps the only thing Kevin enjoyed more was cars, of which he had owned several. Kevin became a member of Downey Avenue Christian Church where he was able to combine his passion for music and Christ through his participation in the choir and numerous plays. Finally, Kevin had retuned to Kokomo where he was employed by Kokomo Center Schools. Kevin departed this life on November 6, 2020 after his battle with Covid-19. In addition to Barbara and Thomas Waldon, Kevin has numerous family members to cherish his memory including his father, Roy S (Mildred) Edwards, Jr.; sisters, Latonya and Rochelle Edwards, and step-sister Andrea Renee Pillow all of Detroit, MI; uncles Archie Kelly, Kokomo, IN, Ray Eddington, Peru, IN, Gary Eddington, McAllen, TX, Donald and Cecil Riley, Detroit, MI; Jimmy (Marsha) Waldon, Kokomo, IN, Ozzie and Frederick (Linda) Waldon, Clarksville, TN; aunts Carolyn Adams, West Bloomfield, MI and Yolanda (Greg) Brown, Clarksville, TN, and cousins, Rakuya Artis, Detroit, MI, Eric Eddington, Kokomo, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Kevin’s memory to be made to the Kokomo Humane Society. Services will be held Friday, November 13, 2020 at Wayman Chapel AME Church, 920 Apperson Way North, Kokomo, Indiana beginning with visitation at 9:00 am followed by a private ceremony at 11:00 am.
