James Richard Reeves

Deacon James Richard Reeves, 87, of Indianapolis, Indiana, transitioned from labor to reward on the afternoon of Sunday, January 13, 2019.

He was a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church, where he had been a Deacon for over 50 years. He retired from Eli Lilly as a Machine Operator.

Deacon Reeves was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Cynthia Mae Reeves.

He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, children: Eva Joyce Reeves, Ava Jo Reeves and Iva Jean McElwain (Steven); sister, Carolyn Drane; 3 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of extended family and friends. 

The visitation is Saturday, January 19, 2019, 9am - 12pm, with the Homegoing Celebration commencing promptly at 12pm at New Light Missionary Baptist Church. The burial will immediately follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
