James Edward Adams

James Edward Adams was born March 20, 1973 in Indianapolis, Indiana to his parents Mary Byrd and James Adams. “Woo” as he was affectionately known by those who loved him, graduated from Pike High School and left for college in Illinois soon after.  “Woo” loved being around his family and friends. He was very strong willed and had no problem giving his opinion on whatever the subject was. He enjoyed watching all sports but his love of basketball became his favorite, playing in Pee-Wee leagues all through his primary years as well as varsity teams in school.   Woo departed this life on Friday, June 23, 2017, at the age of 44 years.    He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Jaime; mother Mary Byrd (Theodore Ford II); father, James Adams; siblings, India and Gerald Adams, step brothers, Shawn Bradley, Theodore Ford III; grandfather Mac Montgomery; common-law wife, Patricia “Maria” Walker-Adams; step children,  James, Je’Ron and Je’Tore; grandchildren,  Patrick “Pooter” who quickly gave Woo the name “Buddy” and Torrien Owens.  Woo had so many cousins, aunts and uncles who were like siblings, to name a few, Walter Johnson, Angelita Brookins, Philbert Akers, Theresa “Punchy” Lewis, Kerry McCraw, and a host of other relatives and friends.Services - Monday, July 3 at 12 Noon.  Visitation - 10 a.m.  Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1301 N Goodlet Ave.   Rev.
