Joyce Yvette Grimes was born November 7, 1961 in Kokomo, Indiana the daughter of Judge John T. Grimes and Dorothy Ellison Grimes. Joyce gave her life to Christ at an early age in her home church Second Baptist Church Kokomo. Upon relocating to Indianapolis, she united with Eastern Star Church. Joyce was educated in the Kokomo School System, she attended Bon Air Elementary School and graduated from Haworth High School. She graduated from the Indiana University School of Music. Joyce was employed as an accountant with IS Group which subsequently became Tyco Security, until her death. Joyce was a jazz enthusiast, loved gardening and spending quality time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Joyce Yvette departed this life on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the age of 55. She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to celebrate her life; her son, Alex Marburgh; daughter, Danielle Marburgh, sisters; Jennifer Whitticker and Willa Varner (Harvey, Sr.); nephews, Harvey Varner, Jr., Kenneth Varner (Myrna), nieces, Lora Whitticker, Cathy Brown (Dana), and Carol Favor; cousins, Janie Beard, James “Butch” Grimes, Sheila Young, John Grimes, Lynn Gatlin, Tanya Powers, Marva Young, Keith Greer, Vernice Fisher and Ricky Fisher; and a host of other relatives and many friends.Visitation: 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 18, 2017.
