Mr. George Edward Bell, 78, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on June 26th at North Woods Village in Kokomo. The family extends a sincere thanks and appreciation for the professional care given Mr. Bell during his stay there. Born October 16, 1941 to the late Cary Bell, Sr. and Lucille Killebrew Bell in Guthrie, Kentucky.
George retired from Delco Electronics Division of General Motors as a skilled tradesman (Carpenter) after 36 years of service. He is a U.S. Marine veteran. He was a 1959 graduate of Kokomo HS and received a skilled certification from Ivy Tech College. He attended Mt. Pisgah MBC. He was a member of the Kokomo Branch of the Indiana Black Expo. He also was a former Bluitt and Son Funeral Home staffer and an avid card player. He also had been a trainer of his German Shepherd, "Duke."
George leaves to cherish his memories, son, Keith Ashley (Michelle) Bell of Kokomo; daughter, Erica Lynn Bell of Kokomo, six grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers, three sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Services at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30th with calling from 4 p.m. until time of service at Bluitt and Son Funeral Home, 511 E. Monroe St., Kokomo. Dr. Lonnie E. Anderson is officiant and eulogist.
