Ethel Lee Polk, 78, of Kokomo, Indiana, transitioned from labor to reward at 9:29am, Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Aperion Care, Kokomo, Indiana.
She was born on August 28, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Eddie and Bernice Wright. Ethel attended Kokomo High School. Prior to becoming medically disabled, she worked at Delco Electronics and Chrysler Transmission. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church and for many years serviced as an usher and sang in multiple choirs. In 1984, she relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania until her return to Kokomo in 2002.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sophia Mae Stone; a son, Evan Andrew Polk; two sisters, Rosey L. Riley, Leola White and Bernice Wright; five brothers, Eddie Wright, Jr., Jerome Wright, Sr., Lee Chester Aldridge, Sr., Cecil Wright and Leo White.
She is survived by children: Johnny McDonald (Tracy) of San Diego, California, Anthony McDonald (Joyce), James McDonald of San Antonio, Texas, Teresa Blueitt (Curtis) of San Antonio, Texas, Lucille Renee Polk of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Veronica Daggs (Chris) of San Antonio, Texas.
The visitation is Saturday, April 7, 2018, 10am - 12pm, with service at 12pm at Strait Gate House of Prayer, 312 E. North Street, Kokomo, Indiana. Pastor Jack Woodard will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made, in Ethel's Memory to Strait Gate House of Prayer or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
