Mr. Carl Junior Carruthers, 62, of Indianapolis, transitioned Tuesday, March 31st, 2020.

Carl was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 8th, 1957 to the late Ernest and Mary Vee Carruthers. He attended Arsenal Tech High School and later obtained his GED. He was a former employee of The Department of Transportation.

Carl was affectionately known as “Twist” to his family and friends. He had a true love for “Madder” his custom ’79 Delta 88. He was the best client at the carwash as he practically lived there just so he can take care of “Madder”. When he as at home, he loved watching Judge Joe Brown and basketball on tv. He also loved his family dearly and it was such a pleasure for him to go watch his grandsons play football. “Twist” loved to listen to music when he was at home or riding down the street in “Madder”.

Carl leaves to cherish his memories his wife Delores Carruthers; son Carlos A. Carruthers (Timia); daughter Jasmine A. Carruthers; stepdaughters Tinika Harrison and Tywana Tyson; brothers Jesse Carruthers and Tyrone Carruthers; sisters Mary J. Carruthers, Rose G. Carruthers, Darlene Knight, and Patricia A. Jones (Tony); 13 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Mary Vee Carruthers; brothers Carl E. Ivy and Earl D. Carruthers.

Services for Mr. Carl Carruthers will be Friday, April 10th, 2020 at 12:00pm with Viewing is 10:00am to 12:00pm at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, 2845 Baltimore Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. A private family burial will be on Monday, April 13th at New Crown Cemetery.
