Barbara I. (Dowling) Bussey 79, passed away January 18, 2021. Born in Kokomo IN she was the daughter of the late Hugh E. Sr. and Margaret L. (Parham) Dowling. She received her formal education in the Kokomo SchoolSystem. Committed to the Lord, she was a member of Union M.B.C in Muncie IN and an honorary member of Mt. Pisgah M.B.C. locally. She was married to the late Charles E. Bussey.She worked as a chef at various restaurants including the Big Wheel Rest and after becoming a CNA she was employed at various nursing facilities. Of her many loves in life she enjoyed most growing plants and family time and will be remembered for feeding many family members and friends. She will be sadly missed and loving remembered by her daughters; Theresa A. (James McGhee Jr.) Porter of Anderson and Ethel M. Tribue of Indianapolis, sons; Lee C. Aldridge Jr. of Indianapolis, Marcus E. Smith of Ft. Lauderdale Fl. and Darrell D. Smith of Kokomo, step daughter Anna Morris Smith, brothers; Robert E. “Bubbie” Dowling of Detroit MI., Norman C. Dowling of Lafayette, Roy L., Michael L. and Hugh E. Jr Dowling all of Kokomo, sisters; Deborah S. and Patricia L. Dowling both of Kokomo, Anita K. “Country K” Herring of Kokomo and Angela M. Young of Marion, 3 grandchildren one of whom she helped raised Shmieka M. (Ramone) Hurst, 4 great grandchildren and a host of family members and friends. She was also preceded in death by four sisters. There will be a public viewing Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church followed by a private service.
